THE HONORARY CONRODS

DSC_7238.jpg

The name links to Dave’s background in rally and racing. An important part of any performance engine are the Conrods. If they are screaming, then the engine is on the limit, screaming. Listening to race engines in a dyno cell being pushed to the limit is rhythmic, and powerful, Just like the bands music.

The Screaming Conrods started life as a tribute act covering rock classics, but with a restless appetite for creating something authentic and original, the band evolved. Dave set about writing an album of original music that reflected his love of the blues, driving rhythm and songs that were stories from his own life adventures.

Joe has co-written the new album Not Today Vol 1 and brought a wealth of studio and live performing to the Conrods.

Joe first met Dave on the 2023 Kira Mac tour when Dave was in the supporting band. A friendship was struck and the result was a fun couple of days in the studio resulting in Baby and Me, which will see the light of day as a standalone release.

After a slot at Firevault Festival 2025 with Joe and Tom on dual lead guitars the idea was mooted for a solid collaboration….and the rest as they say is history.

The forthcoming tour will show another side to Joe’s many talents as Joe will be playing drums on the Not Today tour.

Tom is the powerhouse behind the classic Rock band Mad Haven. Tom’s distinctive vocals and driving guitar riffs bring energy and urgency to any project. Tom toured alongside Dave in 2023 on the Kira Mac tour.

Tom and Dave are the main stay of the house band at The Motorsport Lounge in Llandudno and don’t need asking twice to grace the stage! Tom also techs for Tyketo amongst other noticeable bands and engineers the sound at the aforementioned Motorsport Lounge.

When not fronting the Screaming Conrods, Jason can be found fronting Jason Hunt & The Idlehour. A band that blends a love of Classic Rock, alt.Country and The Rolling Stones.

The Idlehour was born out of a solo album, long since sold out and an EP. The Idlehour are currently working with long-time Black Sabbath producer Mike Exeter on their forthcoming album.
